Regular Season: Justin Parker (1st place) $156.50, Ryan Woods (2nd place)
$78.30, Ryan Corn (3rd place) $26.10. Post Season: Ryan Reynolds (1st
place) $208.80, Reggie Truitt (2nd place) $52.20. Thanks for all of you
who made it a great season. See you next year! Check the board and site
throughout the off season for news and upcoming important dates.
The 0!nkp!g$ finished the IIFFL season off with a 105.93 to 73.81 victory
over Robintucky Raiders to take the first official championship of the
IIFFL.
Finally, the last edition of the power
rankings are up. Week sixteen rankings aren't much different from
last weeks though. It's funny how the bottom two teams on the power ranking
numbers are the two teams playing for the championship this weekend.
II Bowl I is upon us with the blowout win by Robintucky Raiders over Running
Mad and the 0!nkp!g$ close victory over Barbie Boppers in round two of
the IIFFL playoffs. This sets the stage for the very first II Bowl between
the number five seed Robintucky Raiders, against the number six seed 0!nkp!g$.
Kickoff for II Bowl I is set for Friday, December 24 when Minnesota hosts
Green Bay.
The next to last edition of the IIFFL power
rankings have been posted. Only the remaining eight teams that are
in the playoffs are featured again this week.
Ryan Woods is back with another edition in the columns
section. Read the 2004 Season Wrapup column Ryan has written. Ryan
goes back and takes a look at the draft grades he gave at the start of
the season.
Week fourteen of the IIFFL power rankings
are now up. This is the first week of the IIFFL playoffs. Only the remaining
eight teams are featured this week.
RRT Casinos is back just in time for the playoffs. Check out the preview
and lines for all four IIFFL round one games this week in the columns
section.
The inaugural IIFFL regular season has come to an end. The Cosby Sweaters
have finished in first place with a 11-2-0 record. The playoffs start
this week with the top eight teams from the regular season. As of this
writing, The Cosby Sweaters have won at least 152.10 with his first place
finish. Mr. Natalie Portman stands to take home at least $76.05 for this
second place finish, finally, Turd Fergusson wins at least $25.35 for
his third place finish. Those numbers will grow some with free agency
moves during the playoffs. another $250+ is up for grabs in the playoffs.
Power ranking are now up for week
thirteen. Again, not much movement on the board this week. However, we
now have an all-time low power ranking score. This is the final week for
the full twelve team power rankings. Starting next week, the rankings
will feature the eight playoff teams only.
The league is about to see the close of the 2004 regular season. This
week thirteen is our final week before entering the post season. The top
eight teams at the end of this final week will move on to the three round
playoffs. A lot of close races to get into those final few open spots,
and one big race to the top. This week we'll see the rematch of the week
two matchups. In week two, now number one Mr. Natalie Portman defeated
now number two The Cosby Sweaters. The winner in the week thirteen matchup
will be the 2004 IIFFL regular season champion. If The Cosby Sweaters
win, both teams will have the same record, but The Cosby Sweaters will
have more total points.
With the addition of Larry Croom to the 0!nkp!g$, the total pot has reached
$500! Even better news, it's still growing.
Due to the short week power rankings
are actually already done. A new number one again this week. Will 0!nkp!g$
drop below 400 ranking points?
Week 11 power rankings have been
posted. Quiet a few changes this week.
The trade deadline has past. As of midnight, no more trades are allowed.
Again, free agency is not effected by the trade deadline.
The trade deadline is just around the corner. November 19th marks the
last day to make any trades. The trade deadline has no effect on free
agency. What big names will find new homes by Friday?
Well, this is the latest I've put the power
rankings off. Not much movement on the board this week. However, we
have a new number 1 and a new number 12.
We're just over the halfway point for the entire season (regular &
post). Not a lot changing on the power
rankings board this week.
RRT Casions are at it again. This week features three games, including
the two powerhouse battles. Click on over to the columns
section for lines.
After a two week break, Ryan Woods is finally back with his weekly wrapup.
As always, the columns section has what
you're looking for.
See the power rankings page for
the 8th weeks power rankings. Some numbers really went up while other
went down due to the NFL trade deadline passing.
Week seven power rankings are now available over on the power
rankings page. Enjoy.
After taking a week off, RRT Casinos has been working on his matchups
for week seven. Who does RRT favor in in the big Turd vs. Cosby matchup?
Find out in the columns section.
Check the power rankings page for
the week six rankings. We have a new number one, even though they lost
in week five.
Just a reminder that the trade deadline will be coming up in five more
weeks. Friday, November 19, 2004 (NFL Week 10) is the last day for any
trades. However, free agency and waivers will still be open for business.
RRT has posted his week five matchups article over in the columns
section. See what the line is for the big game of the week, Mr. Natalie
Portman vs. Meat Helmets.
Ryan Woods sends in another great article. Catch his weekly wrapup in
the columns section.
Power rankings for week 5 are now up on the power
rankings page. Enjoy.
We got some big names packing their bags and heading to new teams. Check
the transaction page to see who's
moving where.
Reggie Truitt features two games this week for his weekly mathup column.
You can find what Reggie has to say over on the columns
page.
The Power Rankings for week 4 are now posted on the power
rankings page. Remember that the power rankings are going to be a
little off. Teams that are playing well like Robintucky Raiders is loaded
with a lot of low scoring (power point) running back. Having all those
backs stacked up has brought the Raiders down to the cellar of the rankings.
Ryan Woods is back again with another fine column. Find what Ryan has
to say as he looks back at week threes matchups on the columns
page.
I noticed tonite that CBS
Sportsline and AskTheCommish.com
had updated their power ranking scores, so I decided to update ours. Check
the power rankings page to see
who's fallen, and who's jumpin'.
Reggie Truitt from the Robintucky Raiders has sent in his Week Three Matchups
that is now posted on the columns page.
This has a rundown and line of three of the six games this week. Any other
casinos want to put together a Pt. 2 of this weeks matchups?
For some reason the league was set so that individuals and team defenses
were getting points for kickoff and punt returns. Traditionally it is
set for team defense only, but somehow it got set to both. The individuals
were set for 1 point ever 20 yards and the team defense was set to 1 point
every 25 yards. Then, both the individual and team defense were set to
6 points for a kickoff or put return TD. That how now been changed down
to 4 points for a kickoff or punt returned for a TD. I tried to meet half
way with this. A kickoff returner that sits in the running back spot on
the roster is a nice go to guy for some points when your main backs are
injured. I tried to keep it so they still receive points, just not as
many because a big kickoff return could turn a game around in no time...
and that's not fair. I apologize for anyone that this affects. Changes
have been made on the scoring page.
Ryan Woods has written another article that is now posted over on the
columns page. If you have the time then
feel free to write your own article and send it in.
I've come to the decision that fanbay.net
is not going to update their power
rankings page so I had to find a new source. CBS
Sportsline has now started updating their rankings with individual
scoring, something I could not find on their site a week ago. I am also
using AskTheCommish.com
for the team defense scores, as CBS Sportsline does defense individually
only. So, scores have changed drastically from this week to last due to
the two month time frame between reports and the new source.
I noticed that I had mistakenly set the Kickoff and Punt Return Touchdowns
stat for Team Defense to (-4) rather than (6). I'm not sure why I had
it at (-4) to begin with. This way if Dante Hall returns a kickoff for
a touchdown the Kansas City defense gets 6 points instead of losing 4!
Sorry for the mistake. Updates are reflected on the scoring
page.
Over on the winnings page I have made a list of all the potential winnings. I will be updating the numbers as transactions happen.
I have compiled the power rankings for week 1. The points were taken from fanbay.net and added together. These point values are as of July 18, 2004. Since they are from a few months ago, rookies and other players who did not play last year are not on the lists. This is the reason the MILF Divers have such a low power ranking value for week 1. Expect these rankings to change drastically once the season gets going. I hope to see fanbay.net keep up with updating their ranking values weekly.
Ryan Woods, from Mr. Natalie Portman has just had his (hopefully annual) Draft Grade article published over on the columns page. Check it out, be sure to send your hate mail to him, not me. Great work Ryan, Thanks!
The new columns section has been added where you will find columns written about the league by other GM's. New columns will be added as soon as I receive them. I have also dropped the chat section for a couple of reasons. First of all it didn't seem to be working very well. Secondly, the draft is over, and that was the main purpose for it.
All the rosters have been finalized on Yahoo's site. If you see ANY mistakes please let me know as soon as you see it. Everyone needs to look over their team and make sure it is all correct. You are all free to make roster changes as you wish now. Remember rosters must be set at least an hour before the players game starts.
The 2004 draft has come and gone, but not without a problem or two. Murphy struck about an hour before the draft yesterday to bring my internet connection down leaving the Hoochie Mamas and Robintucky Raiders stranded hours away receiving updates via phone. Most everything else went very well, especially the eats. Check the draft page for all the details on this years draft.
Draft day is almost upon us. Saturday the fourth is the big day as I'm sure everyone knows. Please make sure to bring your $25.00 entry fee. See you here!
The Robintucky Raiders and Mr. Natalie Portman have made a deal that sends draft picks both ways. Check out the transactions page for the scoop. The draft board has been updated as well.
The message board has the ability to use private messages. When you log onto the board, you will notice up on the top left a link that says "X New Messages" (X = the number of private messages in your box). If you click on that link it will take you to a page to view your private messages and create new ones to send to other GM's. You all should be able to pick it up fairly quick, it works very much like email does. The private messages will be perfect to iron out trades in the works.
Tonite I have merged the GM bios pages with the team pages. Now when you select a team you will see all the information regarding that team and its GM. It was sort of redundant to have both pages when they could have easily been designed as one. I have also added some stat keeping tables to each teams page, be sure to have a look.
The new records section will be updated with season and career statistics for the league.
I have made a change to the number of bench spots available for each roster.
I have changed it from eight bench spots to six. Hopefully, this will
make for a better free agency market and help generate some transaction
fees. Also, you may notice that the menu atop each page is ordered differently.
The roster section has also been merged with the rules
section to help create more room in the menu system.
I added a direct link to the Yahoo site that goes straight to the league page. If you're not logged into Yahoo it will ask you for your Yahoo username and password.
The 2004 IIFFL draft order has been selected. Turd Fergusson GM was present for the selection process. The actual selection was done by Ryan's brother Andy Corn who is not involved with the league. Here is the 2004 IIFFL draft order: (1) 0!nkp!g$, (2) BANGER9, (3) Turd Fergusson, (4) Hoochie Mama's, (5) Mr. Natalie Portman, (6) Running Mad, (7) The Cosby Sweaters, (8) Defending Champs!, (9) Meat Helmets, (10) Robintucky Raiders, (11) Barbie Boppers, (12) MILF Divers. The draft section has been updated with the new information.
I finally took the time and got into the message board administration panel and configured a header that pretty much goes along with the rest of the IIFFL site. You will now be able to jump to different parts of the site like on all the other pages. I managed to change the overall look of the board too. It now goes pretty well with the rest of the site. I also added a few more smiley faces. The new ones are on the bottom row when writing a message, you'll know them when you see them. I'll probably be adding more as I come across them.
Today I sat down and redesigned the NFL
news and team news sections.
On the NFL news page I added the league logo and changed the way the page
was displayed. I also changed the Team News sections (that is apart of
the NFL news section) so they display each team logo with the correct
color scheme. The whole section looks a lot better than before.
I made some changes over on the team
news section. I was not happy how the pages looked so I changed services
to interpret the RSS news feeds. If you notice the news no longer has
an advertisement at the bottom, they extend all the way across the page,
and they now have a time that each story was posted on the source site.
As of right now I have the new service working on the Yahoo Sports RSS
feeds only. I hope to have the ESPN NFL news feeds working on the new
service tomorrow. I had them working earlier but now it's not. I'll try
again in the morning and see what happens.
I'm not sure how much this new section will be used, but I know it's something
that I will use. The NFL
news section will be the same headlines you see on the right of each
page but the beginning of each story will be posted underneath every headline.
Most of the news is relevant to the team you select, however I have noticed
some that have slipped in their that didn't belong. The NFL news section
is powered by what is called RSS (Really Simple Syndication), a form of
XML (Extensible Markup Language) that allows sites to deliver continuously
updated news with zero effort the sites owner. The NFL news headlines
are pulled from ESPN.com, and the NFL team news headlines are pulled from
Yahoo Sports.
Wide Receivers will now be awarded 1/4 of a point instead of zero points for every reception made. This point change will help offset the point difference possession receivers vs. game-breaker receivers are awarded.
Most league members are okay with the September 4, 2004 date for our offline draft being held in Robinson, Illinois. Those who can not make the draft will be able use the chat feature [removed] and the online draft board to keep updated. More information, including the draft board is available in the draft section.
Eight people voted on the message board and with a 6-1-1 vote total, the one player keeper league wins by majority. Start planning your draft with your keeper player in mind.
Added team schedule and payment balance information on each teams page.
I went looking around for last years league results and came up empty. So, I decided to make my own copy of what Yahoo has listed on their site. I fooled around with it and figured it wasn't going to take a lot of effort from me to make copies of all the weeks games and detail results that they listed. The results section will usually be updated on Tuesday, after Monday Night Football.
Some of the GM's have been tossing around the idea of having the IIFFL be a keeper league. Teams in a keeper league will keep one, or sometimes two player(s) they drafted for the next years squad. I felt it would be good to let you guys decide if we should use keepers. There is a poll in the message board, please take the time to vote. Thanks.
I have closed the message board over on the Yahoo Sports Fantasy Football page and opened a much more powerful system here on the site. Above, on the navigation bars you will notice Message Board now. Information regarding your teams username and password is explained in this message on the old Yahoo board. You do NOT need to register a new user. Your user has already been created for you, you just need to change your password. Hope you all enjoy the new board.
Teams names have been locked to make things easier on me maintaining this site. Plus it's just easier to keep track of who's who. Hope you liked what you picked.
The IIFFL 2004 stage is set. The four team expansion has went very well. Glad to see that most everyone made it back from last year. It is disappointing that the eight year old fantasy football phenom Khristian Reynolds will not be able to take on the ten year vet Charlie Johnson, it was a match up I was anxious to see. Good luck to everyone! Keep checking the IIFFL site for updates. Draft order selection is the next big item on the table. We will be deciding how the selection will go soon. Plans are to have the draft order generated within the week, giving you time to plan your draft out.
The previous year IIFFL GM's were all scratching their heads wondering where last years winning GM Randy Reynolds has been. GM Reynolds narrowly sured up the final spot with his team the Defending Champs! Let the fun begin!
First year IIFFL GM and four year fantasy football veteran Aaron Thompson has brought the Barbie Boppers to the IIFFL. That leaves just one team spot left!
Another baseball All-Star coach, Chris Thurman and his team the Meat Helmets enter the league. Although Chris is a first year IIFFL GM, he brings prior fantasy football experience to the table.
Some GM's brought up an interesting point about the QB Completion scoring that was originally set. The QB's would receive 1/3 of a point for every completion they made. However, this scoring would devalue QB's like Michael Vick and Dante Cullpepper. Players like Trent Green would gain seven or eight fantasy points a game over backs who throw less and run more. The QB Completion stat is now set to zero points per completion.
The teams section is just a quick overview of each IIFFL team. I created some quick generic logos for each team too. If you like yours, great. If you don't like yours, send me your own.
Eric Smith and his team Running Mad fills one of the four expansion slots the IIFFL has offered this year. Only three spots remain with a number of invites still out there.
A chat section [removed] was added to the site today. It is mainly there for the people who can not make it on draft day. I will continue to keep it up and running throughout the season. I will always be logged on under the name "_8ight" although I won't always be active. If you need to get a hold of me quickly, this is a great way too. You never know, you might catch a couple other GM's in there too. Be sure to press "Accept" when the Java Security warning window pops up, otherwise you will not be able to connect to the server.
Seems like GM Ryan Woods got married in the off season. Returning GM Woods comes to the IIFFL 2004 season with his team, Mr. Natalie Portman.
Thanks to The Cosby Sweaters GM Justin Parker, the IIFFL website has a brand new logo. Justin did an absolutely great job on the new logo. Since the logo looked so good I decided to rework all the pages on the site. Enjoy!
Justin Parker brings the warmth and love of The Cosby Sweaters to the IIFFL. Heathcliff Huxtable wants his clothing back.
Two more teams line up to claim the IIFFL 2004 season. Baseball All-Star coach Reggie Truitt heads up the Robintucky Raiders and our northernmost player, Jon Holubiak is in charge of the Hoochie Mamas.
Made a few changes on the scoring page. Passing Yards are now 25 yards = 1 point instead of 30 yards = 1 point. Reception and Running yards were both changed from 15 yards = 1 point to 10 yards = 1 point. This will be easier to do calculations in your head on Sunday. It is also more rewarding for a 100 yard day for a Running Back or Wide Receiver.
GM Charlie Johnson brings the MILF Divers to the IIFFL. This is the first year for Charlie to be in the league, but the old man brings 10 years experience with him. Respect your elders...
Two new teams have been added to the mix. Turd Fergusson and BANGER9. Check out team page to find out more information about the owners of these two teams. Something tells me we might see a team name change or two soon.
Starting tomorrow (Thursday, July 8, 2004), IIFFL should be live with the domain name http://www.iiffl.net
The 2004 edition of the Illinois/Indiana Fantasy Football League has been created at Yahoo Fantasy Sports. You will need a Yahoo ID to create a team and join the league. Please create your team and join as soon as possible. One team per GM, $25 entry fee, $300+ in winnings awarded at the end of the season! Look around the site, you'll find information on the draft, league rules, scoring, winnings, and more information. Sign-up here! Enjoy!
